Evil Outfitters, Ltd is now available!

Look at that! I have a new book out! Double Dragon Books had originally scheduled Evil Outfitters, Ltd for release at the end of the year. Then it got moved up to July. Then a slot opened up in the publishing schedule, and it's out now!

It's set in the same world as Jack of All Trades, if you liked that one. It'll probably take a few days to appear on Amazon, but you can order the book from the publisher at the link above. There's also an excerpt of the first chapter on that page.

Awesome! And I just got paid...

Also, I just finished Dragon Whisperer. I really enjoyed the tone and the characters were fun.

Oh, thanks! Dragon Whisperer had some major flaws, but it was fun to write. Evil Outfitters is (I think) much better.

Now you've done it. I've just burned pretty much every spare minute I had today re-reading Evil Outfitters on my phone's e-reader. I damned well couldn't put it down: found myself pulling out the phone and reading a page while waiting for the elevator, or reading a chapter between getting in the car and driving anywhere.

It's been a long time since I read an early version of this one, but I have to say the final version feels a lot smoother than the prior cut. I still feel Mr. North didn't get enough attention in the second book after being such a dominant character in the first, but that's the only criticism I can even come up with.

Your characters are simply amazing! Such a short piece and yet you've still been able to build an array of incredibly distinct, powerful figures. I loved every minute of the almost catty humor between Muir and North, the endless comfortable scenes of talented tailors working furiously while still relaxed together.

The setting itself is wonderfully novel--I laughed aloud at a dozen different little lines, most of which I'm not sure were intended to be amusing. ("As for work in progress, I'm designing the prototype uniform for a death squad. I'm not happy with the collar." I had to put the phone down for a while after that I was laughing so hard.)

I swear, you deserve to be famous for this stuff. Write some more so I'll have something else worth reading, will you?

Wow, thanks! I'd forgotten you'd already read it. I did a pretty extensive edit last year before I sent it to Double Dragon, and I wish I could do another edit today with what I've learned from editing The Weredeer.

The death squad jacket line was meant to be funny. I guess it worked. :)
