The vampire might be a gourmet

I forgot that September 1 was the two-year anniversary of this blog. Hard to believe I've been complaining here for that long.

The Bell-Men (working title, of course) is coming along great. I'm at 8,500 words now and I want to get to 10,000 words by tonight. This may be hard because the Food channel is running an Iron Chef marathon this evening. If I try and write while watching Iron Chef, my characters will suddenly get very interested in food. And since the next scenes are going to include main character Cassie's first meeting with a vampire, which will not go well for her, adding food would be really peculiar.

I adore the original Iron Chef : ) Though Sakai always annoyed me. Don't know why, since he is apparently lovely in person!

You're flying along. And I still shiver at the word 'Bell-Men'.

It's funny how those important dates flash by without us remembering (it's a guy thing, you know). Congrats on 2 years with the blog thing.

Natalie--I'd really like to see the original show, but Food network doesn't seem to ever run them. I like Iron Chef America, though, because they bring in chefs who are from all over the world. It really makes me realize how few foods I really eat (like right now, I'm offending my sensibilities with stale off-brand frosted mini wheats).

Cate--Ooh, good! When Cassie does eventually come across the real bell-men, I'm going to work hard to make them creepy as hell.

Alan--Thanks! It's debatable whether my blog's anniversary is really an important date or not, though. :)

I hope you hit your goal. And don't get too distracted by the most addictive channel on television.

I did hit my goal, although it was 1am when I got there. Blame the Iron Chef.

Milestones are good to celebrate whether they be at 1am, the end of the first draft or a writing blog's second birthday. We need good things to pick us up occasionally and any excuse to have a break and buy something nice is a good thing - go on, celebrate!

Congratulations on all counts!

Thanks! :)

Iron Chef is awesome, and so are vampiric gourmets.

Happy late anniversary!

Now I'm tempted to write a story about a vampire who loves to cook.

Which is not a bad idea, actually. Except that it's probably been done.
