Uncertainty
Remember how last week I said I had a story out that I reread and it was horrible? I just got a note from the editor, and they're holding it for a second look.
I now see that I am completely unable to evaluate my own work.

I think that's the same with everyone. Stories I've loved people have hated and stories I've hated people have well... liked. :)
Same here, although never quite this radically. :) When I read this story over, I was actually embarrassed that I'd sent it out at all.
Hah! Why leave it to editors to reject one's stories when one can manage all by oneself?
*raises hand* Guilty! I self-reject all the time! I'd probably have a much bigger list of sales if I didn't.
Maybe I should think about that. Hmm.
