What have I DONE?

I just ordered a Sony 505 ereader. It's red.

Yes, I just blew $269 for a piece of technology that requires me to buy more stuff in order to use it. Although it does come with a voucher for $100 worth of ebooks. And a red leather case.

Red is my favorite color, have I mentioned? It also comes in blue or silver, but red is the best color.

It probably won't get here for a few weeks since I chose free-ass shipping. I'll keep you posted, naturally, and of course I'll be very vocal about what I like or dislike about it.

Now I have to write a lot of stories. I've got to pay for this stupid ereader.

can't wait to see what you think of it. I think I would have chosen red as well. The other colors seem so blah.

I always choose red, although my MP3 player is blue (because I got the same kind as my mom, and she bought a red one--I didn't want to get them mixed up). The silver ereader is really blah, and the blue one is kind of dull too.

Will be waiting with baited breath for your comments on it. I've been considering it, but the cost is ridiculous down under. Take your $269 and pretty much double it, bloody weak-arse dollar...

Anyhoo, I read a lot, particularly for reviewing so I've been looking at my options and I'm down to e-books (hence the reader) or audio.

I'll be watching closely...

I was going to wait until they dropped in price, but I sort of went insane and ordered one on impulse. From the way my mom is already looking up her favorite authors online to see if they have ebooks available, I suspect I'm going to have to share this thing. Or she'll end up getting her own.

I'm very interested to see if the e-ink screens really are like reading a real book or if the reader still feels like a computer reading experience. Not that I mind reading on a computer screen, I just don't like to have to sit up to read. I read in bed a lot.

I want a full, detailed review. I'm starting to have a hankering for one of those fancy ereaders...either that or a bologna sandwich. I'll let you know after the sandwich.

Well, when it comes to writing, what better place to start than that time travel story?

*ducks and runs*

As the others said - let us know what you think of it. Mine would have to be pink.

Jeremy--no, rrrrreeeeed. :)

Aaron--I don't know what came over me and made me decide to get it. Maybe I wanted a bologna sandwich too and I just didn't recognize the subtle difference in the two cravings.

Jameson--argh, the time travel story! It will haunt me forever! I will finish it today, you just wait. It will be astoundingly bad, but it will be finished.

Cate--They have a bright pink case you can get for it. I was...tempted.
