5k day

My 10k day turned into a 5k day, but I'm happy. It didn't really take me long to write 5,000 words, either, considering I didn't start until 1pm and took a lot of time off to do important stuff like drive into Oak Ridge for Big Ed's pizza (best pizza in the world, even worth risking Oak Ridge's ridiculous traffic cameras for, and the place hasn't changed since I was a kid).

I'm 77,500 words into Bell-Men. I'm to the "exhausted, miserable, want to finish" phase of the book. I spent half the afternoon weeping gently while I typed, because poor Cam is having such a rough time and I have no clear idea how I'm going to tie all the subplots and the main plot together without a deus ex machina.

I keep forgetting I've got Monday off work. I'm going to try my damnedest to finish the draft by the end of Monday.

Poor Cam! Don't fret, by Monday I'm sure her dilemma will be figured out : )

Fantastic. I love it when characters reduce me to tears.

I bet you'll wrap it up on Monday.

Natalie--I hope so! If not, the end is going to be "and then they all got run over by a bus."

Cate--I cry easily, though, so in my case, it's probably not indicative of too much misery going on.

Alan--I'm going to do my best! Then I can read some of these books other people wrote.

I love coming to this blog --- I cried when I wrote part of my first book and when I told a friend of mine (who happens to be an editor) she looked at me and asked if I was depressed. See? There are lots of us...(now don't tell me you're depressed or you'll ruin my whole feeling of gotcha)

Jamie--Only after a major major major revision.

Horror Girl--I cry all the time. I cry at the Lion King because the animation is so beautiful. It means very little. :)

Anne--Oh good, another writer who cries while writing! We should start a club or something. We can have polka-dotted T-shirts so the teardrops don't show.

I gotta say, I don't hate the train ending ; )

PS: Ooh, have the train full of doves that fly away majestically upon impact ; )
