One of the things I'd planned to do this year was blog more frequently. Over the last several months I've been blogging less and less frequently. I don't know why. I mean, it's not that I'm any less interesting than I was this time last year, although I'm certainly no more interesting than I was either.
Maybe it's Twitter. The more I twitter, the less I blog. Uh oh.
This week I've received three rejections, which is sort of amazing considering how few subs I have out there right now. On the other hand, I did get a payment for a story I'd forgotten about, so I guess it's a trade-off. I guess.
I know I've been saying this for weeks--possibly months--but I'm very, very close to finishing the Bell-Men rewrites. In fact, I think I'm going to open it up and work on it right now.

I'm going to try to "social network" a little more this year (ala blog and twitter). Last year I was pretty lame.
I need to be better about the networking thing too. Just maybe not quite so much Twitter.
I think there is a direct corolation between twitter frequency and blogging proficiency. It is inversely proportional.
I'm beginning to suspect as much.
I still can't bring myself to Twitter. I think I'll just keep hanging out here in blogland.
I'm with D, I shall never teet until my book publisher demands it, and as I don't even have an agent yet...

I wish that I had Twitter to account for my lack of productivity. It's amazing that you get so much accomplished.
Danielle--It's actually really fun to Twitter. I like the tiny windows into other people's lives.

Natalie--It wasn't a large payment, but I'm not going to sneer. It's a long way to payday.
Alan--Uh oh. Maybe I'm just blaming Twitter and that's not actually the reason. Maybe I'm just kinda lazy lately. :)
I'm up to five rejections for 2010 and I'm surprisingly not bothered. As for blogging more, I agree, twitter does seem to take you away from the blog a little (plus, I'm the Queen of Boring this year).
More time rewriting means the finished product will be awesome, right?
Writing is all about the unexpected/forgotten payment. I just wish publishers didn't forget so often...
Cate--You can't be the Queen of Boring 2010 when we're only 14 days into the year and you've had the flu. Give it three weeks at least. :)
Aaron--Geez, I hope it's awesome after all the work I'm putting into this thing. After the rewrite's finished, I still have some pretty major editing to do.
I've been posting a blog everyday and I think it has helped my writing skills. I have never twittered or looked at twitter but the twitter "quotes" I've seen do not look conducive to good writing skills.

Twitter requires a different kind of writing since there's not enough room to really expand. Some of the Twitter stories I've read have been really awesome (from Twitterzines like @thaumatrope and @nanoism).
I don't seem to have a problem with blogging. It's keeping up with all my online friends that's hard to do. :)

I have trouble doing both lately, for some reason. I spent most of my online time playing video games, which isn't doing me or anyone else any good.
