I used to update almost every day. I used to have time to read other people's blogs too. Funny how the end of the semester still gets me even though I'm not taking classes. I guess that's the way it is when you work in a college.
(That sounded like a punchline, but it wasn't funny.)
I'm still lacking six books in my "read 50 books in 2009" challenge. I think I may have to pick up six really thin YA/MG books to make it, although after this week I'm off work until the new year! Maybe I can settle in next week and read and read and read. Er, no, wait--I have to spin and spin and spin up the nice old neighbor's dog hair and then knit and knit and knit it into a muffler to give it to him for Christmas, and at this rate that's going to take every spare minute of my time since right now I only have enough fur spun up to make a doll's muffler.
I've had this fur for an entire year, too. I have absolutely no excuse for leaving it so late.

You know, "I've had this fur for an entire year, too" can really be taken out of context. Especially on a blog in which were-animals are regularly discussed.

I behind in my reading this year too - NaNo pulled me up. Only a few weeks left to try and catch up.

Danielle--That was what threw me off too. I misjudged how many books I could read during December when I didn't have any time to read in November.

Stay away from 'Under the Dome'. How about some chapbooks? I mean, they have the word book in the title. :D

What about talking books? I like to listen to them while I'm cooking. At the moment, I'm listening to Bram Stoker Dracula. I love to listen to how someone else reads the written word and how they flow together. I think it helps me when I read my work back to me.

For some reason I can't make myself believe that listening to a book is the same as reading it myself. I'm more visually oriented than auditorially (audially? well, you know what I mean), which may be the issue. I like listening to music, but when I listen to someone reading aloud I tend to zone out after a while.
You could just pick up some Dr. Seuss books at the library. They're short, yet very entertaining. ;)
I do love Dr. Suess. Unfortunately, I've already read them all and I'm not counting rewrites.
I'm making this way too hard for myself!
