DragonCon is go!

My serial Twitter story, "Unicorn Chase," started today at Thaumatrope (@thaumatrope). It'll run throughout July.

I just asked a coworker (well ahead of time) if she can fill in for my Saturday hours on September 5. She said yes, so that means I can attend DragonCon in Atlanta this year for the first time! I've been to conventions before, but never a SF/F con. I need to get online and see where it's being held this year and so forth. If anyone out there's planning on attending, we can meet up!

ETA: I'm definitely going now--I just Paypaled the membership fee ($90 until July 15, after which it raises to $100).

So you'll be published 31 times in July - you win. :D Good start, and enjoy DragonCon, may there be real dragons.

Congrats on your serial story. Have fun at DragonCon. Some day I may be able to convince my wife I should go to one of those things.

What's with all the near-words lately?

We have a SF convention here every April, but I have yet to attend.

Yes yes yes yes! You know, I kept meaning to ask you if there was any chance you could attend Dragon-Con. It's pretty insanely fun...

See you there!

Sounds fun. Take lots of pics!

Too bad Atlanta is like 2,000 miles from here. In fact, it seems all the good cons are waaaay to far away for me to even think about attending. Bummer.

Cate--I hadn't thought about it like that. 31 published stories in July, not too shabby. :)

Jamie--It's too bad you can't convince her to go to DragonCon! Apparently the thing is HUGE. I bet she'd like it.

Aaron--I think the folks who design captchas have a weird sense of humor.

Alan--You ought to go! Better get, come to DragonCon this September!

Kevin--OMG! You're going to be there?! Total squeeing here (and profound relief that I'll know someone)! Do you realize it's been almost 15 years since we last met? Don't recoil when you see old-me when you've still got a mental image of me-at-25.

Jameson--Hey, you can take a plane! 2,000 miles is nothing.

Yes, I will be there! I'll be hanging around the Skeptic track more than anywhere else, but I'm sure I'll be wandering all over the place too. So much going on there... (If you scroll back through my Livejournal entries to last year, I posted a day-by-day account of Dragon-Con 2008.)

You'll have no trouble spotting me -- I'll be the Wookie with Spock ears and a Batman suit.

I plan to spend most of my time in the SF/F lit track, but I'm sure our paths will cross.

I'm thinking of a costume. Something, you know, a little more understated than yours. :) Will you be in the parade?

It would be really cool to go to DragonCon. Sadly, the only way I'll be experiencing Atlanta this year will be through Peachtree TV!

I like going to Atlanta because I was born there, and I can tell people, "I'm going to Atlanta this weekend. You know I was born there?" Actually, that's nothing much to brag about, is it?

We've been talking about DragonConning this year; I want to go SO bad.

I hope you do! Then I would know TWO people there!

Alas, despite living in North Atlanta, I won't be there. It's my Dad's birthday that weekend, and my sister just bought a house that needs extra hands to lay some tile that weekend.

Have a great time!

MidSouthCon?

I would love to hit Midsouthcon next March, but I don't know if I can find someone who can work for me on Saturday. I love my job, but the Saturday hours really kill a lot of plans.
