Because my last post was a complaint

I thought I'd better post so people dropping by my blog for the first time won't know immediately that all I do is complain. Unfortunately, all I can think of to blog about is how someone stole my sandwich out of the fridge at work today and I ended up getting a burrito at (urp) Taco Bell instead, dammit.

Ah, yes, I know. I'll mention casually that despite my having worked 20+ hours in the last two days, I have somehow managed to write about 1,000 words of a new short story. I was going to write a tiny short little flash story, but I couldn't come up with a tiny short little idea. Unfortunately, as usual the short story idea I had is trying very hard to turn into a book idea. I am resisting this impulse.

Okay, sorry about the Taco Bell. I haven't eaten there since the last millenia.

Wish we could trade "problems". All my ideas want to be too short for a respectable novel.

I'd swap in a minute! Except that then I'd regret it, because I do like writing novels.

Ah, the silver lining. Sorry about Taco Smell, though.

I'm thinking not having a Taco Bell here is a good thing.

Be thankful ideas are still presenting. Many seem to be museless at the moment.

I'm with Aaron - trade you for the ideas that are too long problem.

Take two sandwiches into work today and cover one in salt. :D

Cate's an evil woman (I really like her idea).

Alan--the worst part is, I don't know if I should bring my lunch today or just plan to eat out.

BT--I have only the one idea right now that I'm working on. Other than that, my brain is empty.

Cate--OMG, salt! That's an excellent idea. Actually, I'm half-convinced that our Fridge Nazi decided my sandwich was old and pitched it, so salt wouldn't help if that's the case.

Alan--isn't she, though? I think a turkey-and-mustard-and-SALT sandwich might just put someone off my lunch for years.

I'm with you. I can't keep a short story a short story to save my life.

Sorry about your lunch (blech). good luck with the writing.

It looks as though it has been a bad week for most of us writers as far a word counts go. You are the third blog I've dropped by who has said they haven't got much writing done this week.

I hope you have better luck over the weekend as the muses drop by to help you out.

Jeremy--I was hoping to finish that story today but it just keeps getting longer and longer.

Jamie--Thanks, hopefully Taco Bell will not figure in my life again anytime soon.

Jarmara--I figure I'm doing good just getting any words at all, this week.

Well, I didn't write a word today (yet), so you're probably doing better than me today. :)
