The Week from Hell is over at last. Of course I didn't accomplish half of what I should have gotten done, but that's all work stuff and I'm happy to drop it like a coat when I get home. But I am awfully tired from working flat out all week, although staying up until midnight watching Ghost Hunters last night didn't exactly help.
I've got a lot I want to do tonight writing-wise, like type up the new story I've tentatively titled "Standard-Bearer" (another of my rotten titles) and finish it, or do some minor revisions of a few stories that have come back recently and need to be sent out again, or at least do some heavy-duty thinking about my idea for a major rewrite of the second half of "Never Be Alone." But I'm too tired. So instead, I'm going to read a little bit tonight and go to bed early. Tomorrow I'll do all that other stuff.
Hey, I'm 25 books into my read 50 books in 2009! Halfway through and exactly on schedule!

There's always next week :)
I've read 22 books so far this year, so will try and beef it up for the second half of the year.
Good call. I never try to force anything when I'm tired.
Danielle--I've stacked the books I want to read next in order from fewest pages to most. Is that cheating? :)
Aaron--Yeah, I've got enough brainpower left to read, but not to write and certainly not to revise. I'm basically just marking time (and reading) until 9pm or so when I can go to bed without feeling like a total wimp for crashing early.
Crashing early feels great the next day!
Yeah, and tomorrow I'm going out blackberry and raspberry picking, so I need to be well-rested!
I bow to your speed reading ability. Have fun picking wild fruit.
Course it's not cheating. I know what I'm going to be doing this weekend :)
Jamie and Danielle--Well, I finished another book last night before I fell asleep! I am SO on a roll. :)
At least you finish the books. I keep starting books, then drifting off. It's like adult onset ADD, but only with novels.
Did you get Cult of the Butterfly out to Emerald Tales on time? Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Anne--Obviously you're just picking the wrong books. I recommend picture books. :)
Cate--Yes, I squeaked in under the wire with about two hours to spare. Since it's their first issue I don't know how long they'll take to get back; hopefully not too long.
