Do Not Want today

I was hoping the snow would continue and we'd have a lovely snow day today, and I could stay home and drink hot chocolate and write. Instead, the snow mostly melted and then froze and now it's melting again, and everything is mud-colored or gray, and I don't feel very good today anyway (but not bad enough to take a sick day), and I woke up to a rejection of my partial by the agent that requested it last week.

I did send out a query to the next agent on my list before I left for work. At least the agent who rejected me got it all over with quickly. *glares pointedly at the agent who has had my requested full since SEPTEMBER OF LAST YEAR* Also, no word from Mundania yet.

I always have plenty of chocolate to spare - Cadbury's Creme Egg or Galaxy Caramel? Yum!

I have some dark chocolate M&Ms in my bag--yum! I had some at lunch and there are still some left for this afternoon, when I suspect I will need them.

Although Cadbury Creme Eggs are pure chocolatey awesome. And I've never heard of a Galaxy Caramel, but it sounds really, really good (I'm guessing, from the name, it may be Nestle's version of a Milky Way bar?).

...dark chocolate...(drools)

Hope your world finds some color (other than mud).

If I remember correctly (from my one visit to the States) a Milky Way is a Mars bar over here. (I got a nasty surprise when I bought a Mars Bar in Vegas as it was a Snickers - yuk). Galaxy is the most gorgeous chocolate on the planet and it's full of pure caramel.

Hope the rest of the day goes better...

What have you found to be the turnaround time for most agents? On average...

Give me that agents home address and I will work him over for you. I will also indulge in chocolate on your behalf.

Aaron--they're calling for a few inches of snow tonight, so maybe I'll get tomorrow off! That will make things better.

Cate--I get so confused about candy here and candy on your side of the Atlantic. All I know is, I WANT LION BARS HERE IN THE U.S. I can get them here, but they're imported and very expensive.

Jeremy--in my (admittedly limited) experience, wait times for most agents are not very long. Either that or they don't respond at all.

Jamie--here, have some dark chocolate M&Ms! Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think the agent who rejected me, while a very good agent and well-respected, is probably not the best for my work. She doesn't represent much fantasy. The agent I've just queried specializes in it.

Okay, I will put away the pipe and just munch chocolate.

Or you could melt the chocolate and use the pipe as a giant straw!
