It's a great big world out there...

And I've hardly seen any of it.

Feeling the itch to travel, probably because the main character in my new project just hit the road in fantasyland.

I tried the map thing and it looks like I made a path going east and west out of Iowa. It was a red line across the U.S with the occasional jog north and south.

Oh god, I'm staying away from that tool. I've only been to Vegas in the US (and Dallas if you count an airport stop). Other than that, I've only been to England (obviously), Wales and a one night stay over in Malta (never to be repeated).

Gee...I hit 26 states, mostly in the midwest to the east coast (thanks to a driving trip to D.C.). As for the world map? Um, the U.S. and Ireland. Ireland is such a sad, tiny red dot on that great big world map.

Jamie--Where I live in East Tennessee is almost exactly in the center of my map.

Cate--One of my states was an airport stop, Michigan. I don't think I got a good sense of the state from the Detroit airport. (Now I'm dying to know about your trip to Malta.)

Aaron--Wow, 26 states! Eventually I'm going to drive out west and see the places where my mom grew up. She was born in New Mexico and lived in Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma until my grandparents moved to Tennessee when she was 18 or 19. She still thinks of trees and grass and hills as vaguely precious things.

I love it, I'm going to give it a try.

44 States here. Then again, I saw most of them while driving long haul.

Danielle--it's a lot of fun. I can't remember whose blog I found it on today.

Jameson--Wow, and here I was impressed with Aaron's 26 states. :) My mom once knew a couple who'd visited all 50 states and saved a little stone from each state. They set the stones in concrete and made it into a paver for their sidewalk. Ugly as sin.
